Job summary

Nord Quantique in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada is seeking a Team Lead for Electromagnetic Design Tools and Infrastructure to define the technical direction of internal EM simulation pipelines and scalable workflows. You will lead tool development for model generation, automation, solver orchestration, data extraction, and validation, while mentoring engineers and coordinating roadmaps with hardware design goals.

Qualifications

• PhD, Master’s degree, or equivalent industry experience in physics, electrical engineering, computational electromagnetics, or software engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in computational EM or scientific software development.
• Strong programming experience, preferably Python; ability to develop maintainable software.
• Experience leading technical projects and tool development.
• Experience with EM tools such as Ansys HFSS, COMSOL, PALACE, Sonnet, CST, or similar.
• Mentoring and coordinating roadmaps with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the EM simulation infrastructure roadmap and solver strategy.
• Lead internal tool development for model generation, automation, and data extraction.
• Set software engineering standards for architecture, testing, and documentation.
• Ensure reproducible, traceable, and validated simulation workflows.
• Drive benchmarking, scalability, and cost optimization across HPC resources.
