Our current needs

Nord Quantique is developing the software systems that enable the calibration, characterization, and operation of increasingly complex quantum processors. As these systems scale, automation, orchestration, and intelligent operational workflows become central challenges. We are seeking a senior software developer to join our Calibration & Device Intelligence team. This team develops the software infrastructure and decision-making automation that allow quantum devices to be calibrated, monitored, and operated efficiently at scale. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, experimental physics, and system automation. The successful candidate will help transform experimental procedures and device behavior into robust, scalable, and highly automated software systems.

Sought expertise and knowledge

• Strong software development skills in Python.
• Experience designing automation, orchestration, or closed-loop systems.
• Experience developing software for scientific instrumentation, hardware control, or experimental workflows.
• Familiarity with optimization, system characterization, or operational decision logic.
• Experience integrating machine learning or optimization techniques into production software systems is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with quantum computing experiments, calibration workflows, or pulse-level control systems is considered an asset.
• Advanced level in English, to communicate with international team members
• Intermediate knowledge of French is an asset.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in computer science, software engineering, physics, or a related field.

• Experience developing software interacting with experimental hardware, instrumentation, or operational systems.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary environments involving close collaboration between software and scientific or engineering teams.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive complex technical initiatives.
• Scientific curiosity and motivation to work closely with experimental systems.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical disciplines.
