Location: Based in Guelph, Ontario or the Greater Toronto Area

(Note: If based in Toronto, will be expected to be available for regular travel to Guelph to engage with the leadership team)

The Position

The Digital Transformation Leader reports to the CEO of RWDI and is responsible for aligning our use of technology in order to drive successful execution of our strategic plan objectives. The focus of this role is to provide a full-time focus on the digital transformation of RWDI by leveraging subject matter expertise to drive business-focused decision making to develop and implement technology solutions. This involves cradle to grave consideration for each business process to create organizational alignment, foster a culture of innovation, and strengthen governance. The Digital Transformation Leader will plan, coordinate and provide change management leadership for deployment of technologies that support our business model and stitch together the numerous functional teams across the organization that are progressing down their technological path.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible to develop a technology vision to achieve our strategic goals
• Responsible to develop and own the global technology roadmap for the entire organization to achieve the vision.
• Develop the operational and financial plan to support the roadmap with a clear focus on resources, timelines, and accountability.
• Responsible for developing a governance model that supports key decision-making and oversight for the execution of the technology roadmap.
• Responsible for developing a plan to streamline workflows and processes and identify when and where automation and artificial intelligence should be implemented.
• Responsible for scanning the market to understand the technology options that are available to RWDI. This includes creating awareness of new technology trends, understanding options available to address a technological need, assisting in selecting the right one to meet RWDI’s near and long-term needs, and establishing a develop vs. license assessment.
• Responsible for ensuring each technology-focused team is properly resourced with the right people and skills and determining how best to augment with vendors and manage these vendors across teams for maximum value. This role will be responsible for the facilitation of global collaboration across all of our offices
• Responsible for creating plans to ensure that technology solutions are deployed and adopted as designed by using effective deployment and change management strategies.
  
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Post Graduate degree.
• Education/Experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Formal business education/experience, strong business acumen.
• 10 to 15 years' experience in technology leadership roles, particularly in the engineering consulting sector or related fields.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale technology initiatives and driving organizational change/digital transformation.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a focus on innovation and problem-solving.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Expert in change management process and strategies for implementation and adoption of new technologies
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to leveraging technology for environmental solutions.
