Job summary

Giant Tiger in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is hiring a Head Cashier. In this full-time role you will focus on delivering a high standard of customer service, train cashiers on POS operations, and oversee checkout procedures.

You will also handle merchandise ordering, open/close the store on a rotating schedule, enforce policies for tobacco and lottery, and address customer concerns promptly. A competitive benefits package accompanies this position.

Job Title Head Cashier (Full-Time)

About This Role:

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible of ensuring a high level of customer service;
• Training all cashiers on point of sale, customer service and checkouts procedures;
• Completing ordering and replenishment of checkout merchandise (including tobacco and lottery);
• Responsible for opening and closing the store on a rotating basis;
• Ensuring compliance of all checkout policies on a daily basis;
• Ensuring health and safety policies and guidelines are followed;
• Ensuring the checkout work area is kept clean and organized;
• Ensuring Loss prevention best practices are followed;
• Ensuring compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery;
• Opening and closing the store on a rotating basis;
• Resolving customer complaints quickly and professionally.

What You'll Bring:

When You'll Work:

A typical full-time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 35-40 hours weekly. A typical part-time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.
