Job summary

Live Nation Entertainment is seeking a part-time Head Audio for History Ottawa, a 2,000-capacity venue. You will oversee the in-house audio systems, interface tour gear, and provide operator-level management, including maintenance planning and system tuning.

The role supports stage operations and may include general production duties under IATSE Local 471. The ideal candidate has advanced pro audio knowledge, tour experience, and familiarity with major consoles (Digico, Yamaha, Allen & Heath,

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in technical production or 3+ years’ experience of advanced audio operation with a recognized entertainment venue.
2 years or more of tour and/or stage production experience.
Deep understanding of pro audio systems, audio signal flow, tuning and time alignment.
High-level working knowledge of current audio consoles and equipment from manufacturers such as Digico, Yamaha, Allen & Heath, Soundcraft, SSL.
Demonstratable skill and comfort with mixing Front-of-House (FOH) or Monitor audio.
Computer literate in Windows & Mac OS production applications (SMAART, 10Eazy).
RF Coordination using spectrum analyzers and tools such as Wireless Workbench, Soundbase, IAS).
Use of PA Design and Management software like Meyer Sound COMPASS, Adamson Array Intelligence, or L’Acoustics LA Network Manager.
Familiarization with technical protocols such as Analog audio & video, Networked audio (Dante, AVB, MILAN, Q-Sys), Digital Audio (MIDI, AES), Immersive Audio & Video (Dolby Atmos, Sony 360).
Superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Soldering and circuit diagnostic skills are preferable.

Responsibilities

Perform as audio production lead for the in-house crew to meet the needs of the incoming tours production.
Ensure audio production needs of the incoming show are seamlessly implemented as advanced by the Technical Director.
Support the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Directors in show-day functions.
Assist and support in-house production department personnel with job functions as needed including loading in and loading out of equipment.
Ensure the History Ottawa equipment inventory stays accurate and equipment is checked in and out properly on a per-show basis.
Coordinate and assist the technical director in ensuring ongoing equipment operational readiness such as equipment firmware programming, ongoing system tuning, etc.
Contribute to the maintenance planning, scheduling and implementation for all the pertinent equipment.
Ensure equipment status and repair needs are communicated to the Technical Director on a regular & timely basis.
Ensure positive and creative environment for the in-house crew
