Job summary

West Fraser’s High Prairie Lumber division is recruiting a Heavy Duty Mechanic/HET for our Mobile Shop. This on-site role offers a challenging, diverse opportunity to service log loaders, wheel loaders, forklifts, log trucks, walking floors and dump trucks.

You must hold a valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson certificate; apprentices are encouraged. Reading manuals and schematics, using diagnostic systems (CAT/Kenworth), and hydraulics/electrical systems expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson mechanic or HET certification.
• Apprentices are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Capable of using diagnostic systems; Cat, Kenworth.
• Proven working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Flexible schedule for day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Experience working in a fleet shop.
• Cummins and Cat engine experience.

Responsibilities
