West Fraser is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic/HET for our High Prairie location. This role will be part of the Mobile Shop and focus on maintaining and repairing industrial equipment used in lumber production.

You will work with equipment such as log loaders, wheel loaders, forklifts, and trucks, reading manuals and schematics, and using Cat/Kenworth diagnostic tools. A Journeyperson certificate or HET qualification is required, with apprentices encouraged to apply.

Qualifikationen

• Valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson mechanic or HET certification.
• Apprentices are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Capable of using diagnostic systems (Cat/Kenworth).
• Proven knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Commitment to safety and creating a safe workplace.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Flexible schedule for day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Experience in a fleet shop.
• Cummins and Cat engine experience.

This position offers a challenging, diverse, and exciting opportunity to join our team. Job duties will fall within our Mobile Shop department.

You’ll Do:

• Perform various tasks related to the safe and efficient application of technical skills and knowledge of a Heavy Duty Mechanic/HET.
• Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including Log Loaders, Wheel Loaders, Forklifts, Log Trucks, Walking Floor, and Dump Trucks.
• Maintain other mobile equipment used in the manufacture of lumber.
• Continually maintain the quality and standards of service to safety and production.

You have:

• A valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson mechanic or HET certification
