Summary: The HCS Operational Project Manager will support, manage, and direct projects related to UNC's Access Center software and new software implementations. Familiarity with access and scheduling tools such as Epic Workflows, Call Center software, Scheduling workflows, and Call agent workflows is essential. The role also involves supporting Care Access and Service Integration (CASI) initiatives to develop and execute strategic access center projects. The individual must demonstrate strong communication skills, accountability, adaptability, attention to detail, and a results-oriented, customer-first attitude.

The HCS Operational Project Manager defines project scope, goals, and deliverables aligned with system-wide business objectives, collaborating with senior management and stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive project plans, financial plans, quality audits, and communication documents. The role requires working with various IT resources, administrative staff, call center teams, clinicians, and executives to implement strategies fostering a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

1. Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion, adhering to Privacy & Health Care System standards.
2. Customer Focus: Maintain a customer-centric environment that attracts and retains high-caliber employees. Coach and mentor staff to ensure organizational engagement and performance, treating all employees with fairness, compassion, and respect.
3. HCS Operational Project Management: Oversee the direction, coordination, and execution of system-wide projects, ensuring alignment with UNC Health Care’s strategies and goals. Develop project plans, set goals and budgets, identify resources, and establish measurement methods while maintaining strong relationships across facilities.
4. Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex issues, develop policies and procedures to maximize efficiency, and ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and meet regulatory requirements. Develop and monitor budgets.
5. Process Improvement: Collaborate with peers to identify improvement opportunities, implement standardized processes, and minimize disruptions to patient care and administrative operations, creating mutually beneficial solutions.

Other Information

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: None required.

Professional Experience Requirements: Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory, management, or leadership role.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to bring projects to successful completion on time and within budget, demonstrating political sensitivity and accountability.
