Job summary

Robertson College is seeking a Health Care Aide Clinical Instructor to join the School of Health. You will report to the Manager, Operations School of Health, and play a key role in guiding students through practicum and evaluations.

The position is a fixed-term contract (part-time) with a daily duties focus on supporting learners, monitoring practicum performance, and delivering feedback in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of current health care experience, preferably working in long-term care.
• LPN/RN license is required.
• Current CPR and PHIA (preferred).
• Experience instructing adults or delivering workplace training is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and make confident decisions.
• Effective time management and prioritization of tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and adaptable in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Be available to problem-solve all students and staff daily.
• Support and guide students in a positive learning environment on HCA duties.
• Monitor students' practicum performance on assigned tasks.
• Complete weekly reports on students and their progress.
• Provide feedback on student performance and progress.
• Collaborate with preceptor to finalize evaluations of student performance.
• Help complete practicum checklists and review final evaluations.
• Document daily performance observations for students.

Overview

We are seeking a Health Care Aide Clinical Instructor to join our School of Health. You will be reporting the the Manager, Operations School of Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be available to problem-solve all students and staff for questions and concerns daily.
• Support and guide students in a positive learning environment on the duties and responsibilities of an HCA.
• Monitor students' skills on assigned tasks while out on practicum.
• Complete weekly reports on students and their progress.
• Provide feedback and assistance to students on positive or "need to work on" statements.
• Collaborate with the preceptor/staff in completing a final evaluation of the student’s practical performance.
• Facilitate filling out practicum checklists.
• Review final evaluations with each student.
• Document daily performance on students.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years of current Health care experience, preferably working in Long-term Care.
• LPN/RN license (required).
• Current CPR and PHIA (preferred).
• Experience instructing adults and/or delivering (individualized or group) workplace training is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and make confident decisions.
• Efficient in managing time and prioritizing tasks.
• Proven reliability and consistent punctuality.
• Approachable with a friendly demeanor, fostering a supportive environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible and responsive to changes in a fast-paces setting.
• Multicultural sensitivity/awareness.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.

Job Type: Fixed-term contract (Part-time)

Salary Rate: $34.00–$37.89

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Day/Evening Shift)
