Job summary

Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is seeking a Haul Truck Operator north of Fort McMurray, AB. You will operate heavy equipment, conduct pre-op checks, and maintain the truck in a safe and productive manner.

The role requires completion of pre-employment testing and may include client training. The schedule is 6 on, 6 off, with 12-hour days and nights, providing overtime opportunities and a stable rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of experience operating Caterpillar 777, 785, 789, 793, 797, Komatsu 980.
• Oil and Gas industry experience is considered an asset.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• College or industry courses in heavy equipment operating is considered an asset.
• Retention of a valid class five (5) driver’s license and clean driver's abstract is required.
• Validity of CSO/BSO or CSTS/OSSA training is required.
• Ability to speak, write and read English is required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload materials.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and keep the truck clean.
• Work shift rotations; days and nights.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Comply with all road regulations on site.
• Report equipment damage to the Team Leader.

Summary

Under the direction of the Team Lead, theHaul Truck Operatoris responsible for the operations of equipment in a safe, productive, and efficient manner according to the scope of the project and the work being performed. The operator will also keep clean and maintain the equipment and comply with all policies and procedures in the operation and securement of the equipment.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.

In addition, this position may require the successful completion of client training and a competency assessment.

Key Focus

• Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload materials
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and keep the truck clean
• Must be able to work shift rotations; days and nights
• Must be dependable and reliable
• Required to comply with all road regulations on site
• Be alerted to risks or threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
• Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of the equipment
• Report all damage of the equipment to the Team Leader

Knowledge and Skills Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
