Job summary

Mowi Canada West is recruiting for a Hatchery Technician to join our Freshwater team in Campbell River. This is a full-time, year-round opportunity with competitive benefits in a leading global seafood company.

You will follow safety protocols, care for fish from egg to smolt, conduct daily water quality checks, and assist with reporting and equipment maintenance. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Aquaculture experience or relevant post-secondary education preferred.
• Safety-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized and have a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment
• Feeding and all other care required for fish from egg to smolt stages
• Accurate reporting, record keeping and document management
• Conducting daily water quality and equipment checks
• Monitoring fish behaviour, appearance and overall health
• Safely operate mobile and site equipment as authorized and upon completion of required training
• Cleaning, power-washing and sanitizing to maintain a pristine environment for our fish and our employees
