Job summary

Motive is seeking a Security Engineer, Hardware Security to partner with Engineering and Hardware teams, focusing on secure-by-default components and scalable security programs. You will influence security across device lifecycles, architectures and cloud integrations, driving architecture reviews, threat modeling and secure provisioning practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Hardware Security with security-by-design patterns.
• 5+ years working with product teams to define security designs and requirements.
• 5+ years hands-on development in Python and C/C++.
• Strong understanding of hardware root of trust, secure boot, attestation, key protection, device identity, and secure provisioning.
• Experience in cloud security, runtime security, supply chain security, and application security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build hardware and embedded security baseline across Motive devices (boot chain, firmware, FOTA, manufacturing).
• Drive relationships with hardware engineering to ensure findings are prioritized and remediated.
• Identify and assess hardware security risks across the lifecycle (design, manufacturing, deployment, updates, decommissioning).
• Lead hardware security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and security testing for product systems.
• Define and review security requirements for hardware platforms, embedded systems, firmware interfaces, boot processes, and device lifecycle controls in cloud-connected environments.
• Drive end-to-end security for device hardware across IoT and cloud security infrastructure.
