Job summary

Motive is seeking a Security Engineer, Hardware Security to join the Product Security Team. You will partner with Engineering and Hardware to implement secure-by-default components and drive a scalable security program across devices and cloud services.

You will lead design reviews, threat modeling, and security testing for hardware platforms, firmware, and embedded systems, shaping security requirements across the device lifecycle and cloud-connected environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Hardware Security and security-by-design patterns for devices and platforms.
• Hands-on experience designing, reviewing, and validating security controls for hardware and low-level systems.
• Experience with cloud security, runtime security, supply chain security, and best practices in application security.

Responsibilities

• Build hardware and embedded security baseline across Motive devices, including boot chain, firmware, FOTA, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering to prioritize, validate, and remediate findings.
• Identify and assess hardware security risks across the product lifecycle including design, manufacturing, deployment, updates, and decommissioning.
• Lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and testing for product systems.
• Define and review security requirements for hardware platforms, embedded systems, firmware interfaces, boot processes, and device lifecycle controls.
