Picketa Systems Inc. is hiring a Hardware Operations Lead to scale the LENS hardware fleet across procurement, fulfillment, deployment, and support.

This is an in-person role in Hanwell, NB, reporting to the COO, with a focus on building scalable systems as demand grows. You will own the hardware operations lifecycle, ensure timely availability of units, manage shipping and calibration, and collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and leadership to keep commitments.

Responsibilities

• Own ordering, inventory, preparation, dispatch, tracking, and support of LENS units.
• Manage suppliers, parts, hardware, accessories, and replacement components.
• Maintain records of unit location, condition, and calibration dates.
• Coordinate hardware builds, QA checks, packaging, and shipment prep.
• Ensure units ship complete and correctly configured with required components.
• Provide second-line hardware/IT support for customers and internal teams.
• Troubleshoot hardware, tablet, peripheral, and desktop issues not needing engineering.
• Maintain visibility into hardware availability for sales planning.
• Track inventory levels and address shortages proactively.
• Help establish hardware standards and configurations.
• Build and improve fulfillment, returns, calibration, fleet tracking, and support processes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, and leadership to keep commitments.

Picketa Systems is an agtech company helping growers and agronomists deliver better crop nutrition decisions. Our flagship product, the LENS, provides instant plant tissue analysis so customers can access nutrient data faster and make more informed decisions throughout the growing season.

We are hiring a Hardware Operations Lead to help us scale the supply, preparation, deployment, and support of our LENS units as demand continues to grow.

Role Snapshot

• Focus: Hardware procurement, inventory, assembly, fulfillment, fleet management, and hardware support
• Mission: Build the systems and processes that allow Picketa to deploy and support more LENS units reliably as we scale
• Location: Hanwell, New Brunswick. This is an in-person role, with limited flexibility for remote work.
• Employment: Full-time

The Role

As our Hardware Operations Lead, you will own the operational side of the LENS hardware fleet.

Your mission is to:

• Ensure we have the hardware and components needed to support sales
• Keep LENS units ready to deploy, properly configured, and fully equipped
• Own shipping, tracking, returns, and fleet visibility
• Troubleshoot common hardware and IT issues
• Build repeatable systems that make hardware operations easier to scale

This is not a traditional IT support role. We’re looking for someone who understands hardware scale-up and can help us build the systems needed to move from managing individual units to reliably supporting a growing fleet.

What You’ll Do

• Own the ordering, inventory, preparation, dispatch, tracking, and support of LENS units
• Manage suppliers, parts, hardware, accessories, and replacement components
• Maintain accurate records of unit location, condition, customer assignment, shipping status, and calibration dates
• Coordinate hardware builds, configuration, QA checks, packaging, and shipment preparation
• Ensure LENS units ship complete and correctly configured, including cases, tablets, cables, and other required components
• Provide second-line hardware and IT support for customers and internal teams
• Troubleshoot hardware, tablet, peripheral, configuration, and desktop issues that do not require engineering support
• Maintain clear visibility into hardware availability so Sales can confidently plan customer deployments
• Track inventory levels and proactively address potential shortages
• Help establish and maintain hardware standards and configurations
• Build and improve processes for fulfillment, returns, replacements, calibration, fleet tracking, and support
• Work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, and leadership to keep operational commitments realistic and execution on track
• Partner with the Engineering team to coordinate hardware/software release cycles, ensuring field units are QA-tested and ready for deployment following system updates

• LENS units are available and ready when customers need them
• Hardware and component inventory is accurate and proactively managed
• Units consistently ship complete, correctly configured, and on time
• We always know where our LENS units are, what condition they’re in, and what needs to happen next
• Common hardware issues are resolved quickly without unnecessary escalation
• Hardware operations become more predictable and repeatable as Picketa grows
• The systems you build allow us to deploy more LENS units without adding unnecessary operational complexity

Who You Are

• Experience in hardware scale-up, hardware operations, device operations, or a similar environment
• Startup or scale-up experience, ideally in a company building and deploying physical products
• Experience with hardware inventory, procurement, fulfillment, logistics, or device fleets
• Comfortable building processes and systems from the ground up
• Hands-on and comfortable working directly with hardware when needed
• Organized, detail-oriented, and strong on follow-through
• Comfortable troubleshooting hardware, devices, and basic technical issues
• Proactive and resourceful when problems arise
• Strong communicator who can coordinate across teams and keep things moving
• Interested in building systems that make a growing company faster and more reliable
