Job summary

Paradox Security Systems, a long‑established high‑tech company, seeks an electronics designer to join the hardware team. You will work on real products that ship with UL, EN, FCC, and CE certifications, gaining hands-on exposure from schematic to production.

You’ll analyze requirements, create schematics, select components, prototype, and collaborate with Test Jig and PCB layout teams. Mentorship will guide you through the full product lifecycle while you contribute to production readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Solid fundamentals in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers (e.g. STM32, ESP) and reading schematics.

Responsibilities

Job description

Join our hardware team and grow into a well-rounded electronics designer.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on real products that ship with UL, EN, FCC, and CE certifications, gaining hands-on exposure to the full design cycle from schematic to production.

What you'll do:
  • Analyze requirements, create schematics, select components, and build prototypes.
  • Hand off circuit designs to the Test Jig team and support the PCB layout process.
  • Document your designs and support the software team on hardware-related tasks.
  • Help bring products through production.
  • Track your work in Jira and Confluence, and keep the team updated on progress.
What you’ll learn here:
  • The full product lifecycle, from concept to a certified, shipping product.
  • Power supplies, battery charging, mixed-signal design, and PCB layout, with mentorship along the way.
  • How real hardware gets validated, certified, and manufactured at scale.
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid fundamentals in analog and digital circuit design.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers ("e.g. STM32, ESP") and reading schematics.
  • A cost-conscious mindset and genuine curiosity about how things work.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English for communication with customers and suppliers across Canada and the USA.
Nice to have:
  • Coursework, projects, or internship exposure to power supplies or battery chargers.
  • Exposure to PCB layout tools.
  • Basic firmware/MCU programming.
  • Awareness of communication protocols.
