Job summary

Canadian Base Operators Inc. in Meaford, Ontario is seeking a Handyperson to support the Structure Supervisor with building and maintenance tasks across our facilities. You will operate hand and power tools safely and help ensure quality outcomes on daily work orders.

This full-time role offers daytime hours (7:30am–4:00pm), an hourly wage of $22.50–$24.00, company pension, health and dental coverage, paid vacation, and opportunities for training and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications/designetions such as Confined Space or Working at Heights are assets.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to obtain Government of Canada Security Clearance.
• Vaccination may be required for client sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely.
• Order materials needed for tasks.
• Manage target inventory and related items.
• Repair and replace targets.
• Work on major building elements, membranes and roof systems.
• Install windows, doors, hardware and locks.
• Apply various floor coverings and wall coverings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Handyperson is located in Meaford, Ontario and typically reports directly to the Structure Supervisor. Their primary focus is to provide support and assistance to the Structure Supervisor.

Compensation, Benefits, And Perks

• Hourly wage - $22.50-$24.00

Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Understands the correct use, safety and maintenance of hand and power tools related to this type of work.
• Orders materials required for individual tasks
• Constructs, issues and receives target inventory
• Repairs and replaces targets
• Major building elements
• Membrane and shingle roof systems
• Window, door, and related hardware
• Lock sets and cuts keys
• Various floor coverings
• Bathroom partitions and hardware
• Wall coverings and painted surfaces
• Performs other tasks assigned

Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements

Knowledge and understanding of:

• Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. capability
• Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance.
