Job summary

Keolis Canada in Prince Rupert is seeking a part-time, on-site Transit Driver to operate both transit buses and HandyDART services. You’ll provide safe, door-to-door transportation and support for seniors and individuals with disabilities, with charter opportunities and a flexible schedule.

Ideal candidates hold a Class 1 or 2 license with air endorsement and can pass background checks. Enjoy rewarding community work and driving variety in a busy, client-focused role.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License – Class 1 or 2 with air endorsement required.
• Ability to pass enhanced criminal record check and drug & alcohol test.
• Provide a clean driver’s abstract.
• Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public and staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers and provide door-to-door assistance when required.
• Comfortable traveling out of town for scheduled charter work.
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately.
• Maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone.
• Report incidents, vehicle defects, or passenger safety concerns.
• Fuel, wash, and check fluid levels of the vehicle.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by provincial legislation.

From providing reliable transportation across town or further down the road, to supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities with door-to-door service, your work will help keep the community connected. What You’ll Do:

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as required by Provincial legislation and record any minor vehicle defects onto the vehicle daily

What We’re Looking For:

• HandyDART: $29.30 /hour
• Luggage Truck: $26.50/hour
