Job summary

Keolis Commuter Services in Jasper is seeking a casual Transit Driver to safely transport passengers and deliver outstanding customer service in this breathtaking alpine community. You will represent the company with professionalism and ensure passenger safety at all times.

Responsibilities include operating shuttle vehicles in all weather, conducting pre- and post-trip checks, reporting maintenance needs, and assisting riders courteously while managing any behavioral issues.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or 2S driver’s license.
• Clear driver’s abstract.
• Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
• Strong knowledge of the Jasper roadways.
• Physical ability to push/pull wheelchairs up and down a ramp or onto lift.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers safely and according to established policy.
• Operate the shuttle vehicles in a safe manner in all-weather/road conditions.
• Provide information to and assist passengers in a courteous manner.
• Manage passenger behavior by quickly and effectively solving problems.
• Conduct pre-and-post trip checks of vehicles prior to/after their use.
• Report vehicle maintenance issues.
• Maintain radio contact with base and use proper communications protocol.
• Report passenger emergencies and schedule concerns.
• Complete various forms of paperwork, as required.
• Assist with driver coverage by driving the shuttle bus.

Safely transport passengers while providing superior customer service and demonstrating strong communication skills, patience, maturity, and initiative. This is a contract position with the possibility to extend.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Valid Class 1 or 2S driver’s license
• Clear driver's abstract

Hourly Rate:

$28 to start, then $30 after 3 months’ probation
