Job summary

Exergy Solutions Inc. in Calgary is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support the design and delivery of pilot-scale and prototype systems.

This hands-on, fast-paced role requires practical experience across piping, pressure equipment, structural work and general mechanical equipment in industrial settings. You will produce fabrication-ready drawings and 3D models, coordinate with engineers, fabrication shops and field teams, and help ensure designs are buildable, safe, and operable.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of hands-on mechanical design in industrial environments.
• Proven experience taking designs from concept through fabrication and field implementation.
• Experience with piping systems, pressure equipment, structural/skid design, tanks and pumps.

Responsibilities

• Support layout and design of pilot plants and modular systems.
• Develop 3D models for mechanical systems and equipment, including piping and structural components.
• Produce complete fabrication-ready drawings (GAs, piping isometrics, weld details).
• Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and fabricators to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
• Incorporate fabrication and field feedback into design improvements.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
• Active involvement in fabrication, assembly, and testing in the shop.
