Job summary

RTX in Oakville is seeking an experienced machinist for on-site work with the Advanced Structures team. You will perform hand hone, polish, v-hone and horizontal hone operations from drawings and setup sheets, ensuring quality logs are updated and discrepancies are communicated to supervision.

The role requires 1–3 years of honing/machining experience, proficiency with micrometers/verniers, and the ability to read Matrix and interpret MPS/APS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 1–3 years of honing/machining experience.
• Ability to read micrometers/verniers and other measuring equipment.
• Ability to read Matrix and interpret MPS/APS.
• Eligible to work in Canada; ITAR/CCGP requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand hone, polish, v-hone and horizontal hone work from drawings and general instructions
• Document actions in support of quality logs and communicate discrepancies to supervision
• Work from setup sheets, manufacturing sheets & drawings
• Perform deburring, filing, polishing and cleaning of landing gear components
• Support LEAN initiatives and work as part of a safe, team‑oriented environment
• Multi‑task within the cell and perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Do

• Perform hand hone, polish, v-hone and horizontal hone work from drawings and general instructions
• Document actions in support of quality logs and communicates all discrepancies in machining to supervision
• Work from set‑up sheets, manufacturing sheets & drawings
• Perform deburring, filing, polishing and cleaning of landing gear components as specified
• Work in a safe team‑oriented environment and participate as an active member of the implementation and execution of LEAN principles
• Multi‑task within the cell.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma, with a minimum of 1-3 years of previous Honing/Machining experience.
• Demonstrated ability to read micrometers / verniers and other measuring equipment
• Demonstrated ability to use Matrix and read & interpret latest MPS/APS
• The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner

The salary range for this role is 61,334 CAD – 81,003 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
