RTX (Collins Aerospace) in Oakville, ON, is seeking a honing/machining professional for its Advanced Structures team to hand hone and finish landing gear components. The role emphasizes reading micrometers, using Matrix and interpreting MPS/APS, and safe operation within a lean, collaborative environment.

The position is onsite with a Monday–Thursday shift pattern and requires a high school diploma with relevant experience; a C of Q is preferred and eligibility to work in Canada is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, with 1-3 years of Honing/Machining experience.
• Ability to read micrometers and verniers.
• Ability to use Matrix and interpret MPS/APS.
• Eligible to work in Canada; must meet ITAR/CCGP requirements.
• Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) preferred.
• Ability to operate an overhead crane safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand hone, polish, v-hone and horizontal hone work from drawings and general instructions
• Document actions in support of quality logs and communicate discrepancies to supervision
• Work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets & drawings
• Perform deburring, filing, polishing and cleaning of landing gear components as specified
• Work in a safe team-oriented environment and participate in LEAN implementation
• Multi-task within the cell
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Do

• Perform hand hone, polish, v-hone and horizontal hone work from drawings and general instructions
• Document actions in support of quality logs and communicates all discrepancies in machining to supervision
• Work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets & drawings
• Perform deburring, filing, polishing and cleaning of landing gear components as specified
• Work in a safe team-oriented environment and participate as an active member of the implementation and execution of LEAN principles
• Multi-task within the cell.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma, with a minimum of 1-3 years of previous Honing/Machining experience.

• Demonstrated ability to read micrometers / verniers and other measuring equipment
• Demonstrated ability to use Matrix and read & interpret latest MPS/APS
• The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Qualifications We Prefer

• Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner

The salary range for this role is 61,334 CAD – 81,003 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
