Job summary

Finning Canada, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer, is seeking a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic to service CAT large engines. Based in Calgary, AB, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will work with the Service Supervisor and team, using CAT SIS/ET daily, and complete all service documentation. We offer a 7x7 continuous shift, pension, benefits, vacation, and CAT certified training to help you grow.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
• Experience on CAT 3500 engines.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Safety-conscious team player with strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar equipment.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete service reports and warranty documentation.
• Interact with customers and Finning team.
• Coordinate with Service Supervisor on tasks.

If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification and have experience with CAT 3500 series engines, then you are exactly who we are looking for!

Job Description

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar equipment
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Lead hand on various tasks as required

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Previous experience on CAT 3500 engine series
• Valid driver's license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
• Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset
• Previous Caterpillar equipment repair experience would be considered an asset

Notes

• This position is located at the Finning Calgary location on a 7x7, continuous shift rotation
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
