Job summary

Fairmont Royal York in Toronto is seeking a Host to be the first point of contact for guests, delivering the high standards of service expected in a luxury property. You’ll help create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure a seamless dining experience from greeting guests to seating and reservations.

Ideal candidates bring previous restaurant or hospitality experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
• Multitasked when dealing with high volume of guest requests.

Responsibilities

• Report to duty punctually to maintain service standards.
• Offer personal and friendly service to guests.
• Know the menu and promotions to assist guests.
• Maintain a neat host stand and seating area.
• Assist with reservations, phones, and guest communications.
• Track covers and coordinate with servers for seating.
• Attend pre-shift and team meetings to align on service.
• Contribute to health, safety, and department policies.
