Job summary

Cutter Aviation in Phoenix, AZ seeks a skilled maintenance technician to support line service ground equipment and facility systems. You will perform repairs, preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure safe, reliable operations in a hangar environment.

Ideal candidates have two years of heavy mechanical experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds. Experience with line service is a plus and you will work with safety-compliant procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of heavy mechanical experience with vehicles and other mechanical equipment.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience as a Line Service Attendant is an asset.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to work in a hangar environment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, overhaul and troubleshoot ground service equipment and machinery to keep it safe and operational.
  • Adhere to safety standards for working around aircraft and facilities.
  • Support Line Service crew as needed and coordinate with other teams.
  • Train new Line Service employees on inspection and safe operation of equipment.
  • Maintain high safety and customer service levels.
  • Keep records of facility maintenance and coordinate contractor work when needed.
  • Inspect structures and systems and report findings to management.

Job Purpose

Provide Maintenance support for aviation ground service equipment, fuel trucks, mechanical systems and facility support.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
  • Repair, overhaul and perform troubleshooting, preventative and routine maintenance servicing of Line Service ground support equipment and machinery to ensure it is maintained in a safe and operational condition (including, but not limited to, tugs, GPU’s, tow bars, anti-icing cart and lav cart).
  • Knowledge of all safety standards for working in and around aircraft and facilities.
  • Responsible for his/her personal safety as well as the safety and care of all equipment and supplies assigned.
  • Liaise with Phillips 66 as needed for audit inspection and other purposes.
  • Proactively support the Line Service crew as a back-up team member as required by manpower and the needs of the business (fueling and towing of aircraft).
  • Comply with all airport authority rules and regulations including AOA operations and airport security requirements.
  • Train new Line Service employees how to properly inspect and safely operate all line service support equipment.
  • Maintain high level of safety and customer service.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include (but Not Limited To)
  • Keep records of all facility maintenance performed. Make recommendations to General Manager on mechanical systems scheduled services.
  • Coordinated the use of contractors for facility repairs as needed.
  • Inspect outside structures and systems such as lighting fixtures, pavement condition, security gates and fences, signs and utility services. Make recommendations to General Manager as necessary.
  • Responsible for facility's safety compliance with OSHA regulations regarding mechanical systems.
  • Maintain and control disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with EPA rules and regulations.
  • Perform periodic checks of all equipment and facilities and document findings.
Job Qualifications

  • As assigned, incumbents provide specialized, journey level technical GSE support oversight for facilities, grounds, equipment and general equipment maintenance including compliance with FAA regulations and recordkeeping requirements. Responsibilities, as assigned, may include: welding and fabricating parts; safety inspections; monitoring and maintaining inventory; installing and maintaining equipment; installing, troubleshooting and repairing high voltage power distribution systems; performing maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment; monitoring compliance with applicable regulations related to Cutter Line Operations; and/or, performing other related activities.
