Job summary

Sun Life is seeking an AVP Technology Lead for the GRS Member Platform in Canada. You will drive strategy, modernization, and execution to enable member, sponsor, and advisor experiences at scale in a hybrid work environment.

You will oversee platform delivery, governance, and vendor relationships, building a high-performing, inclusive technology culture across multiple squads and legacy systems. This role requires strong leadership and financial acumen.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in senior technology leadership roles with demonstrated success delivering complex, mission-critical systems.
Experience leading modernization of wealth, retirement, investment, sponsor/advisor, or member-facing digital platforms.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing sizable budgets, vendor portfolios, and technology cost optimization.
Bilingualism (French-English) is required for Quebec interactions with colleagues and partners.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop GRS technology leaders and teams, fostering an inclusive, execution-focused culture.
Define platform roadmaps, OKRs, and modernization priorities aligned with business goals.
Drive end-to-end delivery for GRS digital platforms across internal teams and vendors.
Establish governance, track delivery metrics, and drive productivity and reliability improvements.
Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and cost optimization opportunities.
Represent GRS technology in executive forums and build trusted cross-functional partnerships.
