Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, 34 days holiday (including bank holidays and service), bonus, MediCash plan, and professional membership.

Location: Pickering, Yorkshire and the Humber

Description

We are seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join a business near Pickering. The role offers a salary between £45,000 and £50,000, along with 31 days holiday (rising to 34 with service), bonus, MediCash plan, and professional membership. The main responsibilities include managing monthly management accounts, investment reporting, and supporting ad hoc projects.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and Finance Director, key accountabilities include:

1. Preparing monthly management accounts, including ledger reviews, group recharges, accruals, prepayments, and bank reconciliations.
2. Producing monthly reports on investment and property portfolios.
3. Handling management accounts for new acquisitions and setting up accounts for future acquisitions.
4. Assisting in the review of potential business acquisitions.
5. Supporting capital projects with proposals, payback assessments, and proper accounting treatment.
6. Managing daily and weekly group cash reporting and forecasting.
7. Managing portfolios, invoicing, receipt monitoring, and handling queries.
8. Preparing quarterly VAT returns, monthly CIS returns, and supporting year-end tax work.
9. Contributing to budget preparation and forecasting.
10. Supporting the year-end audit process and statutory accounts preparation.
11. Managing ad-hoc group costs and contracts, including timesheets and expenses.
12. Developing group reporting processes and controls.
13. Covering other functions as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in month-end management accounts.
• Previous experience as a Group Financial Accountant.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
