Job description

We are currently recruiting for an opportunity as a Group Financial Accountant to join abusiness based near Pickering. A salary on offer is £45,000 to £50,000 alongside 31 days holiday (rising to 34 with service), including bank holidays, bonus, medicash plan and professional membership.

As Group Financial Accountant, you main duties will be looking after the monthly management accounts and investment reporting, as well as other ad hoc project work.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller and Finance Director, the Group Financial Accountant's key accountabilities will be to:

• Prepare monthly management accounts for the Group, including review of nominal ledgers, processing group recharges, posting of accruals and prepayments, and bank reconciliations.
• Preparation of monthly reporting on investment and property portfolios.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for newly acquired businesses and set up and prepare accounts for any future acquisitions.
• Assist with review of potential future business acquisitions.
• Support on capital projects, including project proposals, assessment of payback and correct accounting treatment.
• Daily and weekly Group cash reporting and forecasting.
• Assist with management of portfolios, including raising invoices, monitoring receipts, and dealing with ad-hoc queries.
• Preparation of quarterly Group VAT return, monthly CIS returns and support of year-end tax work.
• Support the preparation of year end budgets and forecasting throughout the year.
• Support annual audit process for the Group and the preparation of statutory accounts.
• Management of ad-hoc Group costs and contracts, such as timesheets and expenses.
• Continue to develop the Group reporting process.
• Review and develop the controls and procedures in place.
• Covering other functions/roles when required.

To be successful in this Group Financial Accountant opportunity you must:

• Fully Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience of month end Management accounts preparation.
• Have previous experience in a similar Group Financial Accountant position
• Be able to work independently, as well as part of a small team
• Have knowledge of using accountancy software such as Sage, Quickbooks, etc. with the capability to be able to learn new systems and processes quickly

Based in Pickering, this role is commutable from Scarborough, Malton, Pocklington, Thirsk, York and surrounding areas.
