Job summary

ISG Search Inc. in Windsor, Ontario, is seeking a Group Finance Director for a major North American manufacturing organization. You will lead the Finance function, drive performance, and partner with senior leadership to steer strategy.

The role manages monthly closes, budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax, and financial controls across Canada and the U.S. A CPA and cross-border experience are required; base salary CAD160k–180k with a 20% bonus.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Significant progressive Finance leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing Finance teams.
• Strong Canadian and U.S. finance experience.
• Strong technical knowledge across financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, month-end and year-end close.
• Experience with financial controls and external audit processes.
• Manufacturing or automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated business partnering experience with senior leadership and operational stakeholders.
• Strong ERP and financial systems experience, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong listening skills and ability to build trust.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships across Finance and the business; be a trusted partner.
• Act as Finance business partner to senior leadership and operations.
• Work with plant ops, supply chain and other functions for financial insight.
• Translate financial information into practical business recommendations.
• Challenge the business constructively while maintaining credibility.
• Provide leadership with analysis to support decisions.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes and reporting for Canada/US.
• Oversee consolidated reporting, balance sheet reviews, and statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and performance reporting.
• Oversee external audits and liaise with auditors.
• Provide oversight of tax, treasury, banking, intercompany, and controls.
• Guide inventory, costing, spending, and performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls.
• Partner with senior leadership on business initiatives and priorities.

A well-established North American manufacturing organization with operations across Canada and the U.S.

Our client is conducting a highly confidential search for a senior Finance leader to oversee the Finance function and partner closely with senior leadership and operations. The successful candidate will bring strong technical Finance expertise, but equally important will be their ability to lead people, build relationships, listen effectively, and operate as a true business partner across the organization.

Principal tasks and responsibilities include:

• Provide overall leadership and direction to the Finance function across the organization.
• Lead, coach, develop, and motivate the Finance team while building a positive, collaborative, and accountable culture.
• Build strong relationships across Finance and the broader business, creating an environment where people feel supported, heard, and valued.
• Act as a trusted Finance business partner to senior leadership and operational stakeholders.
• Work closely with plant operations, supply chain, and other functional leaders to understand business priorities and provide financial insight and recommendations.
• Listen to business stakeholders, understand their challenges, and translate financial information into practical business recommendations.
• Challenge the business constructively while maintaining strong relationships and credibility.
• Provide leadership with clear analysis and insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close and reporting processes for Canadian and U.S. entities.
• Oversee consolidated reporting, balance sheet reviews, and preparation of financial statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial performance reporting.
• Oversee external audit processes and act as a key liaison with external auditors.
• Provide oversight of tax, treasury, banking, intercompany, and financial control activities.
• Provide financial oversight and guidance related to inventory, costing, operational spending, and business performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve Finance processes, reporting, controls, and overall effectiveness.
• Partner with senior leadership on business initiatives, investments, operational decisions, and broader organizational priorities.
• Ensure the Finance function is aligned with the organization's strategic objectives and provides meaningful value to the business.
