Job summary

JN Bentley is seeking enthusiastic Groundworks General Foremen to oversee civils sites, primarily within water projects, around Bolton. You will supervise several gangs and assist Site Managers, ensuring safety and quality on site.

The role requires proven civils experience in water environments, strong leadership, and a proactive safety mindset. You will coordinate concreting, drainage and pipe laying, with opportunities for career progression and training.

Qualifications

• Experience managing gangs on civils projects within water industry.
• Current CSCS, CPCS or NPORS certification.
• SSSTS / SMSTS certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence and confident IT skills.
• Experience budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to create risk and method statements.
• Experience conducting daily briefings and site inductions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise several gangs and support Site Managers on civils sites.
• Oversee civils works including concreting, deep drainage and pipe laying.
• Promote health and safety and ensure permits to work compliance.
• Lead briefings, inductions and progress meetings on site.

Here at JN Bentley we are looking for enthusiastic and positive Groundworks General Foremen to work on our civils sites who ideally are located in the Bolton area.

In the role you will supervise several gangs and support Site Managers on various civils sites predominantly within the water industry. Experience within the water industry and / or heavy civils infrastructure industry experience is essential.

You will have a proactive attitude towards work and health and safety, with ideally experience overseeing civils works within the water industry and general civils work such as concreting, deep drainage and pipe laying.

Candidate Specification

• Experience managing gangs working on civils projects within water industry, such as civils works on water treatment sites or reservoirs
• A positive attitude towards work, along with the ability to maintain high standards of health and safety
• Current CSCS, CPCS or NPORS
• SSSTS / SMSTS
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Confident IT Skills
• Experience budgeting and forecasting
• Experience creating risk and method statements
• Experience conducting daily briefings, site inductions, method statement rollout and progress meetings
• Knowledge of Permits to work
