Fair Haven Memorial Gardens in Moncton, NB is hiring a Seasonal Groundsperson for a six-month contract. The role covers routine grounds maintenance, landscaping tasks, and assisting with burials, with a 40-hour work week and overtime as required.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12, a valid driver’s license, and a positive, safety-focused attitude. Landscaping/cemetery experience is preferred; IPM certification is a plus. Arbor Memorial offers health resources and a pension plan.

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving abstract.
• Mechanically inclined with training or experience is a plus.
• IPM certification is an asset.
• Team player with a positive attitude and multitasking ability.
• Landscaping, horticultural or cemetery experience is an asset.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Maintain grounds: mowing, trimming, edging, and leaf removal.
• Support seasonal projects like snow removal and debris cleanup.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely.
• Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and mulching.
• Identify hazards and report needs to supervisors.
• Assist in ground burial and cremation niche interments.
• All cemetery care: customer service, memorial and monument installations.

About this role:

Fair Haven Memorial Gardens in Moncton, NB is currently recruiting for a Seasonal Groundsperson. (6-month contract).

Fair Haven has over 40 developed acres and performs more than 300 interments annually. The property includes an onsite sales office and funeral home

The successful candidate for this position strives to keep pace with the ever-changing service demands and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers in a sensitive and professional manner.

This position is based on a 40-hour work week and may change as required for the needs of the business including working overtime as required.

Job Type: Seasonal, full-time 6-month contract

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

• Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is required.
• Mechanically inclined having either formal mechanical training or experience would be an asset.
• A certificate in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) would be an asset.
• A team player, with a positive attitude and the ability to multitask and set priorities.
• Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience, and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors would be assets.
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and leaf removal to keep outdoor areas tidy and attractive.
• Support seasonal projects such as snow removal, debris cleanup, and preparation of grounds for special events or changes in weather.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and mulching to promote healthy plant growth and landscape aesthetics.
• Identify and report any hazards, damages, or maintenance needs to supervisors to ensure safety and timely repairs.
• The successful candidate will be required to assist in performing ground burial and cremation niche interments
• All aspects of cemetery care including customer service, memorial and monument installations.
