Job summary

Arbor Memorial Inc. in West St Paul, Manitoba, is recruiting a full-time Groundsperson to maintain grounds, support interments, and ensure cemetery care is performed to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is required.
• Mechanically inclined with formal training or experience is an asset.
• Heavy equipment operator training/certification would be an asset.
• IPM certification would be an asset.
• Team player with the ability to multitask and set priorities.
• Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience is an asset.
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground burials and cremation niche interments.
• All aspects of cemetery care including customer service, memorial and monument installations, equipment maintenance and grounds maintenance.

About this role:

Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery in West St Paul, Manitoba is currently recruiting for a full-time Groundsperson.

Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery has over 50 developed acres and performs more than 450 interments annually. The property includes an onsite reception center, funeral home, administration and sales office and indoor Mausoleum and Columbarium.

The successful candidate for this position strives to keep pace with the ever-changing service demands and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers in a sensitive and professional manner.

This position is based on a 40-hour work week and may change as required for the needs of the business including working overtime as required.

Job Type: Full-time contract position with a strong possibility of conversion to a permanent role.

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

• Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.

• A certificate in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) would be an asset.

• Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience, and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors would be assets.
• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
