Position: Grounds Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to perform semi-skilled duties related to the upkeep and repair of school facilities and grounds. Responsibilities include:

1. Assist skilled maintenance workers, working independently with minimal supervision
2. Mow, trim, and fertilize lawns; prune trees and shrubs
3. Operate and maintain landscape equipment and machinery
4. Assist in maintaining irrigation systems and setting timers
5. Repair drinking fountains
6. Perform carpentry duties
7. Repair and install door locks
8. Clean and repair roofs
9. Perform electrical repairs
10. Repair heating units
11. Mix and wheel cement
12. Perform heavy manual labor, capable of lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds
13. Operate school vehicles
14. Assist with event setup and teardown (chairs, tables)

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• At least 1 year of grounds work experience; 5 years preferred
• At least 1 year of maintenance work, including plumbing, irrigation, and facilities maintenance; 5 years preferred

Education

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
