Ontario Christian seeks a Grounds Maintenance Technician that performs semi-skilled duties connected with the upkeep and repair of the school facilities and grounds. This role will perform the following duties:

• Assist skilled maintenance workers, working independently with a minimum amount of direction.
• Mow, trim and fertilize lawns; prune trees and shrubs.
• Operate and maintain landscape equipment.
• Operate and maintain machinery and tools.
• Assist in maintaining irrigation systems and time clock settings.
• Repair drinking fountains.
• Perform carpentry duties.
• Repair and install door locks.
• Clean and repair roofs.
• Perform electrical repairs.
• Repair heating units.
• Mix and wheel cement.
• Perform heavy manual labor - must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Operate school vehicles.
• Event setups/teardowns (chairs, tables).

Requirements for this role are as follows:

Experience

• One (1) + years working in grounds work required; five (5) years preferred.
• One (1) + years in maintenance work required; five (5) years preferred (plumbing, irrigation, and facilities maintenance).

Education

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent years of experience.
