Job summary

Food World Plus is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our finance team and maintain accurate day-to-day records at our Mississauga location.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience in grocery/retail environments, with proficiency in accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, GST/HST, and QuickBooks or Sage. This in-office role offers full-time hours and collaborative team dynamics.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in grocery/retail or similar environment is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Experience with accounts payable
• Experience with accounts receivable
• Experience with general ledger
• Experience with expense tracking
• Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and GST/HST.
• Experience with QuickBooks or Sage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping records and financial transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process vendor invoices and expense transactions.
• Prepare and process vendor payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Record customer payments, deposits, expenses, and other financial transactions.
• Assist with inventory-related accounting and adjustments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare basic financial reports for management.
