Job summary

Fresh Market Foods is seeking a dedicated Grocery Clerk to join our team in Ontario. You will help customers, stock shelves, maintain displays, and ensure a clean, organized store environment. The role requires strong communication and teamwork, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

English proficiency is required; French is a plus. We offer permanent full-time and part-time positions, group benefits after probation, employee discounts, and opportunities for housing or travel

Qualifications

• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in English required; French is considered an asset.
• Forklift/power jack training and Smart Serve certification are assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department, including dusting shelves, cleaning spills, and checking product expiry dates.
• Perform daily floor inspections and maintain sweep logs.
• Break down pallets and transport stock from the warehouse to the sales floor for restocking.
• Assist in receiving and organizing incoming merchandise.
• Collect shopping carts and maintain cleanliness of the front entrance area.
• Perform general store maintenance duties as assigned

Hourly Rate: $17.95 -$21.00 per hour (depending on experience)
