This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage starts at $16.60 and may increase based on relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience. The wage is within the scale established by the collective agreement.

Join Our Food Basics Team as a Grocery Clerk! You’ll ensure shelves are stocked, meet customer needs, and uphold store safety and cleanliness.

What You’ll Do

• Unload deliveries and organize products in the backroom or cooler.
• Restock shelves, ensuring items are placed in the correct locations.
• Rotate stock using first‑in, first‑out method.
• Maintain aisles, shelves and the overall store clean and tidy.
• Sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Handle spills promptly and ensure the store is safe for customers.
• Help customers find specific products or answer questions about items.
• Provide recommendations and offer assistance with shopping needs.
• Assist customers in loading groceries into their vehicle.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts and ensure accuracy.
• Report discrepancies or damaged items to supervisors.
• Receive product and ensure the invoice is accurate.
• Set up and maintain promotional displays and end caps.
• Ensure displays are visually appealing and well‑organized.
• Update signage and price tags as needed.
• Perform price checks for customers and fellow employees.
• Ensure all products have correct price tags and labels.
• Provide support to other departments such as bakery, deli/meat, or produce when needed.
• Collect and store shopping carts or baskets as needed.
• Assist with tasks or projects as assigned by management.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Use equipment and tools safely and properly.
• Report safety concerns or incidents to management.
