Job summary

Grand River Personnel Limited in Kitchener is seeking two Grinder/Honers for a full-time permanent position on Day Shift. The role finishes and refines metal surfaces to tight tolerances using grinders and measuring tools.

Competitive hourly pay of $26.00–$34.00 with health and dental plan, healthcare spending account, and pension matching offered. Minimum 3+ years in deburring/finishing with hard steel or titanium and knowledge of calipers, line gauges and boring gauges is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years experience in Deburring or Finishing with Hard Steel or Titanium.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, line gauges and boring gauges.

Responsibilities

• Finish parts using grinders, buffers, and sanders and measuring equipment.
• Use ODS to determine how much material can be removed.
• Perform 5-S activities and follow H&S requirements.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and prioritize tasks for efficiency.
• Interact positively with coworkers and maintain attention to detail.
• Handle hand tools and maintain production standards.

Our client in Kitchener is looking for two (2) Grinder/ Honers to join their team in a full-time permanent role on Day Shift!

The Grinder/ Honer is responsible for finishing and refining internal surfaces of metal components to achieve precise dimensions, smooth finishes, and tight tolerances!

Required Skills:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• 3+ years’ experience in Deburring or Finishing work with Hard Steel or Titanium
• Ability and experience using measuring tools such as calipers, line gauges and boring gauges.

Daily Duties:

• Finish parts using various tools such as grinders, buffers, and sanders as well as measuring equipment.
• Use ODS to determine how much material can be removed during the process.
• 5-S Activities
• Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, including H&S requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and align job functions in a manner that maximizes efficiency and production.
• Experience with hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to interact with co-workers in a positive and professional manner adhering to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
