Location: Calgary Airport | Advertised Compensation: $18.00

Summary:

The Grill/Fry Cook is responsible for preparing grilled or fried foods, performing all station functions of Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and cooking eggs. The role involves communicating ticket times and potential issues to the manager on duty and servers, providing high-quality service to customers and associates, and performing other duties as directed by management.

This is a non-exempt position, typically reporting to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager depending on local requirements.

Essential Functions:

  1. Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items, including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other products.
  2. Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment.
  3. Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.
  4. Practice excellent food safety and sanitation, complying with HACCP standards.
  5. Operate kitchen equipment: measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables.
  6. Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of products.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  1. Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
  2. 0-1 years of related experience; experience in high-volume or fast-casual dining preferred.
  3. Ability to speak, read, and understand instructions, policies, and communicate effectively with customers.
  4. Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
  5. Ability to bend, twist, and stand for job functions.
  6. Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions.
  7. Frequent use of sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates.
  8. Work in hot environments regularly.
