Job summary

Grand Rapids Christian High School is seeking an Inclusion Aide to support students requiring inclusion services at the high school.

The role is a school-year position, about 20 hours weekly, reporting to the Building Principal and Inclusion Coordinator. You will assist teachers with accommodations, document learning targets, collect progress data, and support students in study halls and general education settings. A chauffeur’s license is listed among duties.

Qualifications

• Michigan teaching certificate preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting inclusion services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support students receiving inclusion services.
• Assist teachers with accommodations and modifications for students who receive inclusion services.
• Modify assignments and assessments in collaboration with teachers.
• Support students in general education and small group classes; take notes in general education classes.
• Meet regularly with classroom teachers to identify essential learning targets and assessment methods.
• Document learning targets for each unit and track student progress.
• Assist students in study halls and prepare them for chapel groups.
• Lead a small chapel group and support students with organizational skills.
• Meet regularly with the Inclusion Coordinator and participate in PD sessions.
• Maintain a chauffeur’s license as part of duties.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inclusion Aide will support students requiring inclusion services at the high school.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support students receiving inclusion support
• Support teachers with accommodations and modifications for students who receive inclusion services
• Assist teachers in modifying assignments and assessments
• Support students in general education and small group classesTake notes in general education classes
• Meet regularly with classroom teachers to identify which learning targets are essential for the students they support and how the students will be assessed on these learning targets
• Document the learning targets students are working on for each unit
• Collect data on student progress
• Support students in study halls
• Lead small chapel group
• Assist students with organizational skills and study habits
• Meet regularly with the Inclusion Coordinator
• Participate in district and department-led professional development
• Maintain a chauffeur’s license
