Job summary

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular full-time Graphic Designer/Multimedia Designer to join our Integrated Marketing team.

The Integrated Marketing team develops and executes marketing strategies to build our brand, expand our donor base, and enhance donor loyalty. You will create visual assets for campaigns and digital channels, including simple motion graphics, while collaborating with partners across the organization to ensure cohesive designs.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education plus related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Preference will be given to those with an interest in Marketing and Graphic Design.
  • Experience using graphic design tools such as Adobe CC – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Experience editing short and long-form video and/or creating simple motion graphics using industry tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
  • Experience creating and updating templates built in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Design and redesign graphics, illustrations, advertisements, brochures and many other forms of visual communication.
  • Create visual assets for marketing materials, websites, and other media, including infographics.

About The Role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Graphic Designer/Multimedia Designer to join our versatile Integrated Marketing team.

The Integrated Marketing team is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive, integrated marketing strategies aimed at building Canadian Blood Services’ brand, expanding our donor base, and enhancing donor loyalty.

Formula for success
  • Leveraging your graphic design skills, you will participate in designing and redesigning graphics, illustrations, advertisements, brochures and many other forms of visual communication. You will create visual aspects of marketing materials, websites, and other media, including infographics.
  • Create visual assets for marketing materials, websites, and other media, including simple animated assets (e.g., social animations, text overlays), support the maintenance of our online resource library, including organizing and packaging files for efficient reuse across teams.
  • Capitalizing on your ability to collaborate, you will work with various partners across the organization to provide both printed and digital materials. You will consult with our marketing, communications, and regional donor relations teams to create cohesive designs that reflect our corporate culture, brand vision, and marketing goals.
  • Drawing on your creativity and design expertise, you will develop new design concepts, graphics, layouts, videos and motion graphics while adhering to our brand guidelines.
  • Utilizing your attention to detail, you will amend final designs based on client feedback and secure full approval.
  • Leveraging your multitasking abilities, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, depending on the current client workload.
  • Drawing on your expertise in resource development, you will develop templated resources in editable formats to support the growing needs of the business.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas.
What You Can Expect
  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/ 2 days of the week.
  • Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
