The Opportunity :

Pela Case is seeking a talented and motivated Graphic Designer to join our product team and help drive the visual identity of our brand. As a Graphic Designer, you will create various graphic elements, design artworks, and drive the overall themes / artistic direction for our laser engraving and print programs. You will collaborate with and provide direction to external contractors or freelancers to support design breadth and prepare files for print and production, and design packaging as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to translate creative briefs and campaign objectives into high-quality, brand-aligned artwork and graphic collections.
  • Independently execute artwork and graphic design concepts across a range of styles, based on defined creative scopes by adapting visual themes to speak to diverse demographics, without allowing personal preferences to influence outcomes.
  • Own the end-to-end graphic product design process for laser engraving and print programs, ensuring consistency with brand standards and aesthetics.. Develop cohesive art collections for seasonal product launches, new mobile device releases, marketing campaigns, and custom Art on Demand programs.
  • Provide creative feedback and ensure all work meets quality standards and aligns with established brand guidelines.
  • Stay current on trends - design, art, graphics techniques, colours, utilize and experiment with new technologies, creative tools and methods
  • Trend Forecasting : monitor and analyze cultural and social trends to suggest fresh, relevant design / collection ideas.
  • Support artist series collections with creative decks, tooling, collection setup, and cross-functional communication as needed.
  • Support the launch of new mobile devices and management of our internal Art on Demand tool
  • Initiate and advocate for process improvements as necessary
  • Embrace emerging tools and technologies, including AI-powered design platforms, to enhance design speed, quality, and experimentation.
  • Support the Marketing team with content creation and design work as applicable
  • Design packaging, hang tags, user manuals, and other printed material with usability, sustainability and aesthetics top of mind
  • Become an expert in environmentally friendly printing techniques - Materials, paper types, dyes, production methods, etc.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of graphic design experience, preferably in consumer products or apparel, with a strong ability to create commercially appealing prints and all-over graphics.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop, familiarity with Lightroom is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility in illustration styles and the ability to design according to varied creative directions.
  • Solid understanding of core design principles, including color theory, typography, composition and visual hierarchy.
  • Ability to approach each project objectively, designing for the intended audience and campaign goals rather than personal style preferences.
  • Effective collaborator, able to build relationships across the organization.
  • Strong planning and execution skills with the ability to create action plans.
  • Proven ability to identify and translate cultural and social trends into successful design concepts.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in sustainable design practices and knowledge of eco-friendly materials and production methods is a plus

Salary range- $57,000-75,000 CAD depending on experience
