Simon Fraser University seeks a Graduate Program Assistant to provide administrative support for the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Graduate program. Responsibilities include managing admissions, maintaining records, and coordinating events. About the Role
Working in a dynamic team environment, the Graduate Program Assistant provides diverse confidential administrative support services to the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (MBB) Graduate program. This position responds to requests for information dealing with graduate program admission, registration, courses, grading, scholarships/awards, thesis defences, and graduation processes and procedures. Contributes to the strategic planning and development of MBB’s graduate program. Creates, updates and maintains accurate database and spreadsheet records, website pages and student files; disseminates reports and general correspondence; processes a variety of forms after verifying completeness and accuracy. Coordinates thesis defences, orientation events; conducts preliminary graduate program admission and academic progress reviews and provides front line client services.
Qualifications
High school graduation and training of moderate duration (one semester equivalent) in word processing, database, spreadsheet and web publishing applications, and in office procedures. Minimum 2 years of experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
