Job summary

Park Paving Ltd. seeks an experienced Grades Person to join our Excavation Services division. This is a full-time seasonal position offering a competitive wage with benefits.

The successful candidate will understand grades and survey, read drawings, assist operators, set up barricades, and monitor excavations, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in a physically demanding environment. Driving license and a clean record are required.

Qualifications

Job description

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for anEXPERIENCED GRADES PERSON to join ourEXCAVATION SERVICES division.

This is full time seasonal position that offers a competitive wage with benefits.

The primary responsibilities, duties, and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Understands grades and general survey, and possesses the ability to read and understand drawings
• Assist operators with the monitoring of excavations and safely guide operators around utilities and other obstacles
• Provide accurate cut and fill directions when grading after removals

• The ability to read grade stakes, offsetting hubs, and taking measurements
• Must know how to differentiate grade markings and measuring points
• Set up of barricades and signs around excavations
• Ability to work long hours and overtime in a physically demanding work setting
• Assist in equipment pre/post trip inspections and general maintenance

Pay Scale $24 - $29 per hour based on experience
