Job summary

Park Paving Ltd. in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Grades Person to join our Excavation Services division. This full-time seasonal role offers a competitive wage with benefits.

Pay scale ranges from $24 to $29 per hour based on experience. A valid driver's license and medical fitness exam are required. Expect long hours in a safety-conscious, team-driven environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Understanding Grades and general survey and ability to read drawings.
• Able to read grade stakes, offset hubs, and take measurements.
• Must differentiate grade markings and measuring points.
• Willing to work long hours in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED GRADES PERSON to join our EXCAVATION SERVICES division.

This is full time seasonal position that offers a competitive wage with benefits.

The primary responsibilities, duties, and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Understands grades and general survey, and possesses the ability to read and understand drawings
• Assist operators with the monitoring of excavations and safely guide operators around utilities and other obstacles
• Provide accurate cut and fill directions when grading after removals
• The ability to read grade stakes, offsetting hubs, and taking measurements
• Must know how to differentiate grade markings and measuring points
• Set up of barricades and signs around excavations
• Ability to work long hours and overtime in a physically demanding work setting
• Assist in equipment pre/post trip inspections and general maintenance
