Job summary

Park Paving Ltd. is seeking MAINLINE EXCAVATOR OPERATORS for the Underground Division in Edmonton for the 2026 season.

This full-time seasonal role offers a competitive wage with benefits and requires strong excavator operation skills and safety consciousness. Responsibilities include operating excavators, performing inspections and maintenance, using proper rigging, and coordinating with crew and subcontractors to ensure quality, safe work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong operating knowledge of excavators and safe operation practices.
• Ability to perform pre/post trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Understand and utilize shoring methods and safe excavation practices.
• Understand and implement proper rigging techniques.
• Work collaboratively with crew and subcontracted trucks to complete work efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate mainline excavators safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and basic maintenance.
• Apply shoring methods and safe excavation practices (shields, boxes, air/ hydraulic shoring).
• Utilize proper rigging techniques for lifts and placements.
• Coordinate with crew and subcontractors to meet project schedules.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and track integrity.

Job description

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for MAINLINE EXCAVATOR OPERATORS to join ourUNDERGROUND DIVISION for the 2026 season. This position is a full -time seasonal role and offers competitive wage with benefits.

The primary responsibilities, duties, and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Strong working knowledge of excavators and the ability to safely operate


• Perform pre/post trip inspections and general preventative maintenance of the equipment


• Understand and utilizes various shoring methods and safe excavation practices such as shields, boxes, air shoring, hydraulic shoring, and slide rails


• Understands and implements proper rigging techniques


• Work collaboratively with crewmembers and subcontracted trucks to complete work in an efficient manor.


• Ability to keep machine tracks clean using a track shovel


• Understand and safely implement proper rigging techniques

• Valid Class 5 Driver's licence


• Able to work outside in all weather conditions


• Valid Ground Disturbance 201 Standard training (Alberta) is an asset


• Valid Confined Space Monitor/Entry training is an asset

Pay Scale $32 - $42 per hour based on experience
