Job summary

The Special Areas Board in Hanna, Alberta is seeking a Maintenance Grader Operator to maintain and improve oil and gravel roads and rights-of-way. The successful candidate will work independently outdoors and contribute to team objectives in a full-time role with training opportunities.

Requires several years operating graders and strong safety focus; pre-employment testing may apply. Permanent positions with competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience operating a motor grader.
• Experience operating CAT 150/160M or John Deere 772GP/872GP graders.
• Ability to lift >50 lbs and to enter/exit equipment.
• Strong communication and professional interaction.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders and road equipment for maintenance and snow plowing.
• Grade earth, rock, gravel using machine controls to complete tasks.
• Perform hazard analyses, inspect equipment for safety, and assess tasks.
• Conduct mechanical inspections and routine servicing; maintain records and housekeeping.
