Course: Software Engineering 1 COMP 3350

Start date: September 2, 2026

End date: January 8, 2027

Work schedule: 0 to 10 hours per week

Expected total hours: 75 hours

Hourly rate: $17.54 per hour plus vacation pay

Hiring up to 4 Grader/Marker roles for COMP 3350.__ Graders support by marking and providing feedback on a variety of course assessments. Graders may be required to attend meetings with the course instructor throughout the term.__ Contract period runs from the week before classes begin to the end of the first week in January. Expected grading work runs from the 3rd week of classes to the end of December. Graders will have an in-person orientation in September and may be required to meet with the course instructor before classes begin.__ Good knowledge of Software Engineering principles, COMP 3350 and COMP 4350. An A in the course or graduate students with demonstrated subject expertise is preferred.

  • Meets with the employment supervisor responsible for the course(s), for purpose of orientation and receiving guidelines for grading and marking assignments and for providing written feedback to the students.
  • Grades and marks work submitted by students from tests, exams or projects.
  • Provides written feedback to the students, on the quality of material presented for grading or marking.
  • May be required to maintain regularly scheduled and posted times for providing consultation and a reasonable amount of informally scheduled consultation to students on test, exam or project results.
  • May be required to assist in the production of tests, exams or projects under the supervision of the person responsible for the laboratory or class.

If you are an international student you must have a valid study permit which states that you are allowed to work on campus and you must be enrolled as a full-time University of Manitoba student for the duration of any appointment.
