Job summary

School District No.57 (Prince George) seeks a 1.0 FTE Grade 8-12 Learning Assistance teacher for a limited duration contract at a Prince George secondary school. Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice are preferred.

Indigenous perspectives and Truth and Reconciliation principles should be integrated into the curriculum. Requirements include a BC Teaching Certificate (or application proof), strong assessment-for-learning skills, inclusive teaching methods, and ability to travel

Qualifications

• Valid BC Teaching Certificate or proof of application.
• Copy of TRB letter if certificate is conditional.
• Knowledge of redesigned BC curriculum and core competencies.
• Evidence of qualifications and experience in teaching.
• Proven ability with assessment as learning strategies.
• Experience integrating First Nations principles and Truth and Reconciliation.
• Ability to use diverse teaching strategies to accommodate all learners.
• Experience with experiential and inquiry learning.
• Training in social and emotional learning.
• Strong organization and classroom management skills.
• Team collaboration and willingness to work with others.
• Experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
