Job summary

Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta is seeking a dedicated Kindergarten teacher to provide Alberta curriculum-aligned instruction and nurture a safe, inclusive learning environment for young learners.

The successful candidate will plan developmentally appropriate activities, implement play-based and inquiry-driven approaches, assess progress, and maintain strong communication with families and Learner Support staff to support every child's growth.

Qualifications

• Certified Alberta teacher with Elementary or Early Childhood specialization.
• Experience teaching Kindergarten or early elementary grades.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta Kindergarten curriculum, assessment, and reporting.
• Experience implementing play-based and inquiry-driven instruction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Alberta curriculum-aligned Kindergarten programming.
• Create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Maintain safe, inclusive classroom environment and positive relationships.
• Use differentiated instruction and ongoing assessment to meet diverse needs.
• Communicate student progress with families and collaborate with Learner Support staff.
• Develop and review Learner Support Plans (LSPs) and IPPs as required.
• Maintain accurate student records and reporting in school platforms.
• Collaborate in professional learning communities to improve instruction.
• Engage families through partnerships and school-home communication.
• Integrate Islamic values, character education, and respectful citizenship.
• Participate in school events, supervision, professional learning, and extracurricular activities.
