Job summary

Frontier School Division invites applications for a Grade 1-3 Teacher at Waterhen School. Start date as soon as possible, 1.00 FTE, term to December 18, 2026 with potential extension. Relocation and housing support are provided under the Manitoba Teachers' Collective Agreement.

The successful candidate will deliver grade-appropriate instruction, manage classrooms effectively, and integrate school technology. A Bachelor of Education and Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility) are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility).
  • Sound knowledge of provincial curricula.
  • Previous teaching experience and strong classroom management.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Grade 1-3 instruction in a Nun r to Grade 9 setting? (see context)
  • Implement developmentally appropriate learning activities and assessments.
  • Utilize school-based technology to support instruction and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with staff to support student success in a northern community.

Position: Grade 1-3 Teacher

Location: Waterhen School

Start Date: As soon as possible

FTE: 1.00 FTE

Term of Employment: Term to December 18, 2026 (with possibility of extension)

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

Waterhen School is a Nursery to Grade 9 facility of approximately 60 students, 5 teaching staff

and 15 support staff members located approximately one hour northeast of Dauphin. Divisional

housing is available in the community.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • A sound knowledge of provincial curricula
  • Previous teaching experience
  • A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset)
  • Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
